The area of Daugavgriva in modern Riga seems like forgotten outskirts that has both local and global potential. Historically it has been a place where everything begins. It is a place with a specific nature and aspects of culture and history. Nowadays there is a tendency for cities to shrink, therefore, it is important to compact and combine the qualities of cities and country side. In such way we can offer people to live in an environment where they can enjoy a full range of ecosystem services. The aim is to attract human resources and return Daugavgriva back into the Riga city life and make it as a tasteful alternative to Jurmala. The task of the work is to create a steady urban transect between community garden theritory in the meadows of Memme and large scale residental area where water serves as a key element that bounds the scattered urban space.
